Gil's Life Page 5

Well! Been awhile. I've tried to update this site on a number of occasions, only to have NetObjects Fusion CRASH on me. And had quite a story going on Page 5. Okay, barring another ~CRASH~, let's see if I can continue on this journal.

Let's see... You know, I was thinking. I've been criticized about having my life story on the Internet. Well, why the heck not, I'd say. Don't you think it would be interesting to have some insights on other people's thoughts? That's why some people read autobiographies. I suppose this could be called exactly that. It's not really in any type of sequence, and to me, it would be a very difficult read, but you might call this my online diary that's available to the public. For no other reason than it's what I want to do. It's my diary.

When I wrote this section on December 31, 2004, I was sitting here in the dark in my one-bedroom apartment. I would have had plans to do something, but unfortunately, tomorrow (Jan 1, 2005) the flea market is open and because Bob wanted to be there, and we'll probably have to move the concession trailer to a more populated area in the morning, I've got to be there. 'Sides, I probably would get sick if I had more than a couple of drinks anyhow. Typical. But that's okay. I'm over here watching the Twilight Zone Marathon on the Sci-Fi channel. It's kinda fun, but company would be nice.

I got another cat. This makes number 2. She's a little black and white one, just turned 6 months old, considering she just went into heat. How annoying, but it'll give me some incentive to get her spayed (I did get that done in July, 2005). Her and Prowler seem to be hitting it off rather well. It's better to have two cats instead of one, anyway. I'm gone on occasion for the entire day (or more) from time-to-time, so I think it will help Prowler. Believe it or not, cats can get very bored, and it's not good for them. Oh yes, my new cat's name is, "Obie." Cute, huh? Look it up on the internet...there is a meaning for that word.

February 8, 2005 and it's about 1 in the morning. I did something I wanted to do for some time. Finally got a real hosting company for my website. I'm using "ShieldHost" and they offered a really nice price for a year at a time. Couldn't resist, soooo...no more ads on the top. I have also noticed that a Gil Davis is running for Lieutenant Governor or something at gildavis dot org. Don't want to give him too many links...he's up on the top of the search engines already (note: 9-6-05, he pulled out of the race around May, 05). That's okay, as long as I can keep this one in the top ten someplace, I'll have done an okay job. After all, it's just a hobby. And as of the end of 2006, the site doesn't exist anyway.

In the past year or so since I've really last caught up this website, except for minor modifications to the appearance and some links. In my personal life, I've had several girlfriends, but drats, nothing serious. Well, not for me, anyway. I'm still looking for that nearly perfect female who thinks like me, likes some of the things that I do...I'm so diverse, it would be difficult. Not trying to pull my own strings, but I think I need someone with an IQ over 120, has a like of electronics and computers, music of nearly any type, likes traveling and perhaps motorcycles, likes ham radio...something that I've recently gotten into. My new official call sign was KE5FVW. If you're female and know what that is, wow.... Changed the call to a vanity callsign to WE5ABQ.

Today is July 2, 2006. A few things have happened since my last entry. For one, I've moved in with a girl I met (she's in the "Gil's Friends" section). It's Joy who lived in Merritt Island, Florida. I flew there on Monday, June 5, I spent a day there, and we drove with all the stuff she took in her little Hundai and got here in Albuquerque on June 9. I'd been talking with her on the phone and by e-mail since September, 2005 and she came out to visit the last week of April, 2006. She did decide that she liked me and we're now sharing a 4 bedroom apartment. Quite a step up from my little one-bedroom, I'll say. 'Sides, she'll no doubt make me get rid of a lot of stuff I don't use anymore. I've already started dong that, luckily. Still was quite a move! Took 3 van loads, 2 5x9 foot open bed trailer loads, 3 pickup truck loads, plus 2 car loads! In a one-bedoorm apartment. Wow. But it's over and I got the old apartment all cleaned up, as well.

Well now, today is September 29, 2006. I just took another photo of myself, have finished updating NetObjects Fusion 9 (my current web publishing program), and am ready to see if this will actually work. Looks like some text formatting has changed from my last version (7.5).

Life in the 4 bedroom apartment is quite nice. Got my computer/ham radio shack nicely set up, Joy has her meditation-type room (that's what we're using the 2 spare bedrooms for...yes, we do live in separate rooms since she likes a HARD bed and I like kind of a medium-firm one. No accounting for taste on either of our parts :-) I did get a new part-time on-call job, as well. "Doing what?" you might ask. I repair ATM machines...specifically Titan and now Xtremo ATM machines. Neat job and pays well when and IF they break down, which is rare. But that's okay...it keeps me out of trouble and away from the flea market, since I'm no longer doing that as of June, 2006.

Ahhh...today...November 24, 2006. My nephew moved in with Joy and me last month. He lost his happy home with his girlfriend and roommate, his mom wouldn't let him live with her, so he's here. He just got a job, a car, and is getting back on his feet again. So, Joy's meditation room is temporarily taken and filled with a bed, a couple of small night tables, a tv, dvd player, a laptop computer, and a 23 year old :-) Obie and Prowler, my cats, are doing just fine. You'll find pics of them in the picture area. Joy says that if we decide not to live together after our first year (the term of the lease), she wants to take Prowler with her. It would hurt a lot, but I'd probably have to let her. I'd keep Obie, which is just fine. When I told her what was in this part of the page, she was very hurt, but it's true, we'd been talking about possibly going our own ways after the lease of the apartment is over. We'll see how things go.

Now it continues on Page 6!!!
