Hobbies:  I seem to have a lot of them, in fact, too many to focus on any particular one.  I do enjoy taking pictures, though I'm not a great photographer.  I do know what makes a picture good.  I think that most really good photographers have their cameras ready all the time.  I'm just an advanced amateur, for lack of any other specific tag that can be place on me.  I've actually sold a pic or two, so that would label me, "professional," but it was so long ago that it doesn't count.  Heck, I even charged someone a hundred bucks to videotape their rock-'n-roll band back in 1981, so I'm even a professional producer or filmmaker, or whatever. Definitely no Lucas or Spielberg, that's for sure!  I do own a couple of camcorders, one of which I took for a ride on my Honda Goldwing a couple of years ago, and shot some video while on the bike.  Dangerous, yes.  But got some really neat pics to send off to my friend, Dave and his wife Jane in Coldwater, Ohio.

I do like playing pool on occasion.  Used to be fairly good at it.  Not a world's champion, by any means, but I could hold my own against any bar player that I'd come up against.  I never really played for any serious money, just the next game on the pay tables.  Now, it's just a hobby. Not going to beat anyone that's really good or that can even play, but it's all in fun.

Motorcycle riding for me can be a hobby, or just another way to get to the store.   I own a 1990 Honda Goldwing GL-1500 and do enjoy riding. At 40 miles per gallon, it beats the 23 the van gets.  Of course, it doesn't hold as much stuff, but it will take me, a co-rider, a picnic lunch, and a few other necessary odds 'n' ends. That's all that is needed to make the trip complete.  I can understand folks who don't want to ride 'em because they are dangerous, but there are other things people do that are just as bad. How about trying to make the yellow light? I don't usually do that on the bike. And driving next to an 18 wheeler...I NEVER do that on the bike. How about skiing, boating, and all kinds of other things. If you go along with what the government is saying, you're at risk during an "Orange Alert," a "Yellow Alert," a "Purple Alert," or whatever other colors they have. What the heck does that mean, anyway???  If you don't want to take risks, either get on a plane or stay at home. Oh wait...those aren't absolutely safe, either.

I have gone down on my bike once.  In 1999, I was doing about 15 mph in the RV park and managed to hit some soft sand.  The bike fell and I ended up about 6 feet away from it.  I laughed about it because I knew it was not only stupid to go that fast, but to be there in the first place required a bit of moronic-ness.  No real damage to me or the bike, but it did teach me that you can't use those 900+ pound monsters as dirt bikes. I was wearing a helmet at the time, too.

My latest hobby? Ham radio. I mentioned that on my home page.

I think those are my main hobbies except for collecting DVDs, occasionally playing Dreamcast games (curse you Sega for discontinuing it!), and shopping for bargains.  I love going into Sam's Club and Costco, just browsing the isles.  In a 150,000+ sq. ft store, you can find lots of stuff.  Surfing the Internet, making stupid websites like this one, and even a couple of better ones, occasionally fishing (hate to even try to clean 'em), and a little woodworking round out most of my hobbies, though I'm not really good at that either. You know, if I ever get a workshop, things should improve (well...maybe).

This story will continue....
